Avenue at Leonardslee Illuminated 2021. Image by James Ratchford Photography.

Avenue is a 72m long audio-visual installation designed for linear paths at illuminated trails. Twelve large LED globes each with a different artist-designed cutout of woodland creatures and plants are suspended from Victorian style lamp posts. Each lamp post has its own all-weather speaker. As visitors walk under the globes they are immersed in the relaxing soundscape and movement of light as it responds to the audio. Families love to spot and talk about the creatures on the globes.

Avenue is available for hire in 2022. It can be installed on grass with putlocks or on hard-standing using bespoke, galvanised steel, ballasted bases. It has very low power consumption (less than 1 Amp @ 230V). All equipment is supplied and installed by a team from Sound Intervention. DMX data from the installation can be fed to additional lighting fixtures to add colour and movement to the floor of the pathway and surrounding trees or landscape. It is designed to be out for weeks in winter weather and is very easy to power on and off.
